More Cave Tour, Dec-31-2008

Pic on the left: Min's parents (on the right); our tour-guide (in blue, on the left).   "Tham Poh-Ti-Sat" temple has been well-known for the caves. We saw a few women who came here to pray. They would stay overnight in a main cave near the temple's main building.  They wore white and had sleeping kits with them.  When we got there some of them were cooking, some were eating, some had changed to their white attire after shower and were brushing their teeth.  In that cave the floor was tiled.   But the caves that we toured, which were a few hundred meters from there, were still in the original natural state. Some caves were used to shoot Tony Jaar's Thai boxing movie part two.  When I am typing this I have not seen the movie yet.  Many caves were narrow.   The paths were also narrow, with tree roots showing here and there. The trees, especially the smaller ones, in those narrow openings had very straight and upright trunks.   They were doing their best to capture the limited sunlight.  The trees elsewhere were huge.  My first time to explore a "jungle".

The diameter on the top part was about the size of a basketball.
The whole thing was hanging low.

Our guide quickly pointed his flash light towards a sign on the wall nearby.   It said:

"Kindly moderate your language."

Below:  The women put their sleeping kits along the two walls of the cave, which is to the left and right of this picture.  The temperature inside was low even during the daytime.   It was VERY clean inside.  Shoes must be taken off before entering here.
